Changing eddy current sensors to measure a 3-point calibration, improved user navigation and simplified set up and configuration – all decisive features of the new eddyNCDT 3100 eddy current system. The system contains an extremely compact controller with appropriately developed sensors. Sensors and cables are equipped with an integrated EEPROM memory chip, which includes all the important characteristics. As the sensors provide the controller with all data required, a simple 3-point calibration is sufficient in the case of a sensor changeover. All sensors are factory calibrated for ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic materials and so a precise definition of the measurement object is not required in advance.
All settings are carried out via web browser. As soon as the settings are completed, these changes are stored in the controller and the measurements can be carried out using a PC. The sensors are connected using a PTFE cable of 3m or 9m in length and protected to IP67. Initially, seven sensor models are available to cover the most common measurement tasks, with further sensor models to follow later.The advantages of the eddy current measuring principle also apply to the eddyNCDT 3100.
This means that the sensors can be applied in harsh industrial environments, including oil, water, electromagnetic interference fields, or in ambient temperatures of up to 100°C.
