A consistently high quality of the electrode coating is crucial for the production of high-performance battery cells. OptoNCDT laser sensors are used to reliably monitor the thickness. These measure without contact and with high precision – directly in the coating process.

Two sensors per measuring track synchronously detect the distance to the coated battery film. The exact layer thickness is calculated from both measured values and transmitted directly to the system control. This keeps the coating process stable, reduces waste and documents the quality of each individual meter of film.
